DIY Magnets

I'm in love with this DIY creation! Found this little gem on Pinterest, so I thought I'd give it a try! It was so simple and super cute!

What you need:

Plastic Animals.

Mini Magnets.

Super Glue.

Gold, Silver or Rose Gold Spray Paint.

A knife and cutting board.

Directions:

1. Get your little animals (got mine here!) and place them on newspaper. Always spray paint outside as the fumes can be overwhelming.

2. Once your animal is spray painted on both sides and dry, place it on your cutting board and slice it down the middle.

3. Place a drop of super glue and place the magnet on the super glue. (Got my magnets here!)

Let dry....AND...

Hope you enjoy your little animal magnets!!!

Natural Sunscreens

Let's be honest... AGING SUCKS!  There are fillers and injections to make us look younger, which can be awesome...but why not try and prevent using those things!

When it comes to sunscreens, I am the person who tells her friends and family to APPLY APPLY APPLY!!! It is SO important to protect your skin! (It's the only skin you will EVER have!)

Let me break it down why I'm so nuts about sunscreen:

Skin Cancer.
Wrinkles.
Aging.
Fine Lines.
Pigmentation.
Sallowness (a yellow discoloration of the skin).
Benign tumors.
The destruction of collagen - good byeeee youth!!!

The sun is an amazing natural resource! BUT it can also be very harmful to the skin! Vitamin D is AWESOME! Helps with so many things us as humans need to be healthy! But, let's get serious about preventing the BAD things the sun can also do...

Here are my favorite NATURAL sunscreens:

1. Badger SPF 30 - One of the simplest sunscreens! Only 5 indigents! Zinc oxide (VERY IMPORTANT! It reflects the sun off your skin!) Organic sunflower oil, Organic extra virgin olive oil, and Organic beeswax, $15  (There is also a face stick that I use for certain spots on my face. Like my upper lip, (I tend to get a bunch of freckles which make my look like I have a mustache, not cute!) Also, by my hair line. (Sometimes we forget that just because there is hair, doesn't mean we won't burn in-between the hairs!!)

2. Honest Sunscreen - Zinc is the only active ingredient! NO harmful chemicals, baby safe, Non-Nano, Hypoallergenic, Vegetarian, Non-Whitening, Biodegradable, and Water Proof! It does go on think, but I'd rather have a layer of sunscreen then nothing at all! $15

3. Organic Coconut Oil - Coconut oil has soooooo many uses and sunscreen is one of them! I've used it many times! You must be thinking, OIL FOR MY FACE?? YES!!! (Here is a post I wrote about face oils!!)You can find out more about the benefits of coconut oil here. $12

4. Kiss My Face Sunscreen - I love this sunscreen! It goes on light and protects your skin!!! It is an oat based sunscreen...with NO artificial fragrances, NO artificial flavors, Vegan, NO animal testing, NO parabens, NO phthalates, and it's Gluten free! $15

One thing I use EVERYDAY is Josie Maran's Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47. When you purchase the 4 oz. bottle, you receive a free 1oz mini bottle, which I keep in my purse in case of emergencies!! This goes on a little think, but I just add a bit of 100% Argan Oil to make it less thick and it blends in amazing!!!

Please do yourself a favor and protect your skin!! You will thank yourself in the long run!!! ;)

THE HOLY GRAIL OF FACE MASKS!

Skincare is very important and if it is at all possible for me to find all natural remedies, I do not hesitate to take the chance to try it! One of the latest products that I have been using is called Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. It is a facial mask made from 100% all natural calcium bentonite clay. $4.99

This stuff has truly been a secret because I only found out about it 4 months ago, and apparently it's been around for hundreds of years! WTF?? Better late than never!!

What It Claims:

  • Deep Pore Cleansing

What It Does:

  • This facial really does pull out all of the impurities from deep within your pores. It removed blackheads that were on my nose after the very first use! But I did not want to get too excited until I used the facial a few more times. The directions state to use it once a week (or more than once for problem skin), but I applied it twice a week for about 30 minutes. After each use I noticed that my skin felt softer and my pores were shrinking which made my makeup apply more smoothly.

What It Claims:

  • Feel Your Face Pulsate! And does it ever!!

What It Does:

  • That claim is NOT false advertising! You can actually feel a "pulse" in your face! For me it always feels like a heart throb in the center region of my face.
  • Once you open the container you will find that it is in powder form and it is odorless. To make the facial you mix equal parts clay with raw apple cider vinegar or water into a paste. I used vinegar because ACV has its own medicinal benefits so I knew it couldn't hurt. Once mixed with the vinegar it develops an odor but it isn't unbearable.

How to Mix:

  • Mix aztec secret indian healing clay with equal parts of PURE/RAW apple cider vinegar. It's best to use a glass, pottery or wooden bowl. Stir the mixture until is a smooth paste-add more clay or liquid as needed. Apply a 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch thick layer of clay to the face or other areas and let it dry. Drying times vary, but times are generally 5 minutes of delicate skin and 15-20 minutes for normal skin.
  • Remove clay by washing with wash cloth with warm water. Soak the wash cloth and place it on your face allowing the hard clay to soften and continue the process to each part of your face. (A slight redness will appear after removing the clay. This is normal and will disappear in approximately 30 minutes.) Then apply a moisture or a face oil.

Other uses:

  • The label states that this clay can be used for body-wraps, clay baths, foot soaks, insect bites, and much more! I personally haven't tried the other uses yet but I do love the results it gives as a facial mask.

I am completely obsessed with this product and even got a few of my friends to try it and they love it!

Do your face a favor and GET THIS! ;)

Sunkissed Skin

Summer is almost upon us, (though it feels like it's mid-August here in Los Angeles) so I think we should start looking like summer is here! Bronzing oils are the way to go! They are light, even on your skin, and don't make you look 10 shades darker from your natural color.

Here are 6 different oils to give you that summer glow all year round!:

1. The Body Shop - Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil The honey that serves as the main ingredient in this golden elixir is harvested in the forests of northwest Zambia through the company’s Community Trade program. Needless to say, it’ll make you glow from the inside out. Bonus: The oil smells amazing and dries on contact. $14

2. Sephora Illuminating Bronzing Oil - This spray on, lightly-tinted bronzing oil adds a glistening sunkissed effect to the body and hair. Formulated with grapeseed oil and shimmery metallic flecks, it instantly illuminates skin with an irresistibly golden glow. (Currently on SALE Reg$14.) $7

3.MAC To the Beach Body Oil - Man Rays, a shimmering body oil formulated to bring a sheer sheen and sexy gleam to skin. Soothing, naturally emollient. Its fusion of three botanical oils helps soften, smooth and moisturize skin. $22.50

4. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Usage Shimmer - Formulated with a blend of precious oils and vitamin E, Multi-Usage Dry Oil nourishes and soothes the face, body and hair, leaving every inch feeling silky smooth and soft with a sexy golden shimmer. This dazzling dry oil is rapidly absorbed into the skin giving the skin a subtle glow ideal for a night out on the town. It can be used all year round to combat environmental dryness, and is especially beneficial after sunbathing. (Reg $58, but found on Amazon cheaper ;)) $32.39

5. NARS Body Glow - NARS Body Glow is something of a cult classic. This new version retains the same exotic, Tahitian monoi oil scent and moisturizing benefits as the original, while laying down a heftier dose of sheer color. $58

6. MAC To the Beach Body Oil - Seaside, a kind of golden, sexy alchemy we're all drawn to. This collection encapsulates it with the most soothing, sultry shades of summertime. A safe way to bronze, beautify, and get colour that looks sun-kissed. $22.50

HOW TO APPLY: First MAKE SURE THE CAP IS ON TIGHT, then shake the bottle! (I made this mistake on NYE a few years back. Got the oil ALL OVER myself, NYE dress included, and ALL OVER my friends room! Was not fun cleaning that up! Plus I had to change my dress and the oil never came out! Total bummer!!)  Pour a small amount in the palm of your hand and mix with the other hand. Apply to desired areas and repeat steps above if you want to use more. I love to put it on legs, when wearing shorts/skirt/dress, on my collar bone and as an illuminator on my face!

Pink Himalayan Salt

Pink Himalayan Salt is super old! 250 million years old to be exact!

The crystals come from the EARTH! (Instead of being processed & full of chemicals like processed table salt.)

Some of the magical benefits:
1.} It regulates water throughout the body.
2.} Promotes a happy, healthy pH balance in your cells & brain cells.
3.} This specific salt reduces signs of aging. Well, hell. I’m in.
4.} It helps absorb particles through your intestinal tract.
5.} Promotes sinus, respiratory, & vascular health.
6.} Increases the libido. Hubba bubba!
7.} Promotes a natural, well-rested sleep.
8.} And lastly, the salt crystals help to regulate blood pressure.

This is all I use! I don't even keep table salt in my house anymore!!
This is essential to your daily cooking!!
Good stuff right here!
