DIY Hand Sanitizer

With the flu season upon us, hand sanitizer is a must! Getting sick sucks, so I always try to be as prepared as possible! Here is my favorite recipe using all natural ingredients!

The lavender and tea tree oil have great natural antiseptic properties. Lavender oil is antibacterial and may even prevent scarring. Tea tree is one of nature’s greatest natural antiseptics, and is also good for insect bites and stings, burns, cuts, and abrasions.

Aloe Vera alkalizes the body! Disease cannot manifest in an alkaline environment. It is a well-known adaptogen, which boosts the body's natural ability to adapt to external changes and resist illness. It also is high in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fatty acids, all great for promoting beautiful skin!

Vitamin E comes from antioxidant properties, which removes the unstable compounds that damage the cell structure. It also works great to target excessive dryness. (I love applying Vitamin E oil at night in place of a night cream!)

Witch Hazel is an amazing disinfectant! It works as an anti-inflammatory and fights germs with its amazing antimicrobial properties. It also treats sunburns, great for eczema and psoriasis, reduces wrinkles, moisturizes, heals bruises, treats acne, and reduces puffy eyes! (Now you know what to do with the rest of the bottle ;))

Ingredients:

*2 tablespoons Aloe Vera
*2 tablespoons Vitamin E
*1 tablespoon Witch Hazel
*10 drops Lavender Oil
*10 drops Tea Tree Oil
*Filtered Water

*2 ounce glass bottle (found here)

Directions:

Mix the aloe, vitamin e, witch hazel, lavender oil, and the tea tree oil in glass bottle. (I used the dropper to fill the bottle with the ingredients.) Then fill the remaining bottle with filtered water. Make sure to shake before every use!!

Hope this keeps you healthy this cold and flu season!!!
